Completed in 2025, Norwich is the latest building developed and managed by Bubbly Dynamics as part of our long-term investment in sustainable industrial redevelopment in Chicago’s Central Manufacturing District. Located at 1100 W. 37th St. next door to Bubbly, this former Norwich Pharmacal Co. facility is a heavy timber and brick structure that contributes to the National Register–listed Original East Historic District.
Norwich sat largely vacant for decades before stabilization and build-out began—part of a long-standing collaboration between Bubbly Dynamics and the adjacent property owner, who acquired the building in 2001 with hopes of restoring activity to this underutilized block. Renovations followed the same principles as our earlier work at Bubbly: strategic reuse of salvaged materials, phased improvements to preserve affordability, and thoughtful design to support light-industrial businesses committed to circular economy practices.
Norwich now houses a growing network of small manufacturers, fabricators, and artists. Together, they form a collaborative, resource-sharing community that reflects the spirit of hands-on innovation, material stewardship, and creative reuse.
